Role Summary
We're looking for a curious and motivated Graduate Data Engineer to join our growing data team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone at the start of their career who is passionate about data, technology, and problem-solving.
As a Graduate Data Engineer, you'll work alongside experienced engineers, analysts, and data scientists to help build and maintain the data platforms and pipelines that power business decision-making. You'll gain hands-on experience with cloud technologies, data warehousing, database management, and data processing while developing your technical skills in a supportive environment.

This role is ideal for a recent graduate in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline who is eager to learn and build a career in data engineering.
Requirements
- Recent graduate, or due to graduate soon, with a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a genuine interest in working with data.
- Basic understanding of Cloud technologies/python.
- Exposure to programming languages such as Python, Java, or similar through university projects, placements, or personal projects.
- Understanding of data structures, databases, or software development principles.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and develop technical expertise.
- Ability to manage priorities and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Skills
Whilst not essential, any experience with the following would be advantageous:
- AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Data warehousing concepts and analytics platforms.
- ETL/ELT tools or data integration projects.
- Python for data processing and automation.
- Git or version control tools.
- Personal, academic, or internship projects involving data engineering, analytics, or software development.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines and integration processes.
- Assist in managing and maintaining databases to ensure data is accurate, secure, and accessible.
- Work with cloud-based technologies and tools within AWS to support data storage and processing.
- Collaborate with Data, Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to understand data requirements and business needs.
- Help develop and maintain data models, documentation, and reporting structures.
- Monitor data quality and investigate issues to ensure reliable and trustworthy data.
- Support the automation of manual data processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Learn and apply best practices in data engineering, data governance, and security.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Contribute to projects that improve the scalability and efficiency of the organization's data platform.
