The role - Graduate Design Engineer
Location - Aberdeen City Centre
Hours - Full-time - 8.30-17.00 (Monday to Friday)
Salary - £30k
Office Angels are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client for a Graduate Design Engineer to join their growing design team in Aberdeen.
This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate or early-career professional to join a structured development programme designed to provide hands-on experience across the full engineering design lifecycle. Working alongside experienced engineers and designers, you'll receive ongoing training, mentoring, and support whilst developing the technical skills needed to progress into a Design Engineer position.

The Role
As a Graduate Design Engineer, you will support the delivery of engineering design projects while developing your knowledge and experience within a busy technical environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the interpretation of technical specifications and project requirements
- Preparing and maintaining technical design documentation
- Producing and updating CAD drawings using AutoCAD
- Supporting design calculations and technical assessments under guidance
- Working collaboratively with engineers, designers, and project teams
- Attending design reviews, project meetings, and handovers
- Assisting with project close-out documentation and handover packs
- Developing a strong understanding of engineering design processes and industry standards

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Essential
- A Degree or Level 3+ qualification in Engineering, Building Services, Physics, or a related discipline
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities
- A proactive and positive approach to learning
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- The ability to commute to the Aberdeen office
Desirable
- Knowledge of building services, ventilation systems, or related engineering disciplines
- An understanding of fire safety, smoke control, or alarm systems
- Exposure to HVAC or electrical building services environments
- Experience using AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD software
