Engage talent Partners are working with our Aberdeen based client to recruit a Graduate Design Engineer to join their Engineering Team.
Our client is an established and growing business with a global presence across multiple sectors, including oil and gas, renewables and defence. With exciting developments across these markets and a strong pipeline of work ahead, it’s a great time to be joining the team.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll be part of the design team, working on both standard and bespoke products from initial concept through to production. You’ll help develop practical, cost-effective solutions to meet client requirements, working closely with the wider engineering and production teams.
The role will give you exposure to product design, testing and validation, design improvements and engineering tools, with plenty of opportunity to develop your technical skills and take on more responsibility as you progress.

Key responsibilities:
- Design and develop both bespoke and standard products, taking projects from initial concept through to production.
- Use 3D CAD and other engineering tools to develop detailed and practical design solutions.
- Work closely with the wider engineering and production teams to turn designs into manufacturable products.
- Produce accurate drawings, specifications and technical information to support production.
- Support the testing and validation of new and existing designs, including helping to develop test methods and oversee trials.
- Review existing products and designs, identifying opportunities to improve performance, efficiency and cost.
- Contribute ideas and new approaches to the development of the company’s product range.
- Maintain accurate engineering data and documentation using the relevant systems.
- Apply sound engineering judgement to solve problems and develop cost-effective solutions for customer requirements.
- Continue to develop technical knowledge and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the engineering function.

The ideal candidate will be a recent graduate holding a degree in either mechanical or structural engineering, have a working knowledge of 3D CAD software and must be ambitious and driven to succeed.
