Hays Engineering and a Leading Manufacturing Organisation Recruit a Graduate Design Engineer

Hays Engineering are delighted to be partnering with a leading manufacturing organisation based in County Armagh to recruit a Graduate Design Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineering graduate to join a well-established business known for innovation, quality, and investment in people.

Working within a supportive engineering team, you will receive hands-on training and development while contributing to the design and development of industry-leading products.

Your New Role

As a Graduate Design Engineer, you will support the design and development of new and existing products from concept through to manufacture. Working closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams, you will gain exposure to a wide range of engineering activities and play a key role in delivering innovative engineering solutions.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing 3D models and detailed engineering drawings using CAD software
  • Assisting with product design, development and continuous improvement projects
  • Supporting prototype development, testing and validation activities
  • Preparing engineering documentation, BOMs and technical specifications
  • Collaborating with production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable
  • Supporting design reviews and problem-solving activities
  • Assisting with technical calculations and engineering analysis
  • Ensuring projects are completed to quality, cost and timescale requirements

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering or a related discipline
  • Strong interest in design, manufacturing and product development
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD software gained through university projects or placements
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines
  • Placement or internship experience within an engineering environment would be advantageous but is not essential
