Graduate Ecologist
Location: Bolton, with fieldwork predominantly across the North West
Hours: Potential to start part time, with scope to grow into a full time role
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Appletons are looking for a Graduate Ecologist to join our growing team. This is an opportunity for someone at the start of their career to build practical experience, develop their skills and take on more responsibility over time. The role is based in our Bolton office and will involve ecology surveys, mainly across the North West. Some projects may require travel further afield. The role will also require occasional out of hours work, including for bat surveys. Depending on the successful candidate’s circumstances, the position could begin part time and develop into a full time role in the medium to longer term as experience grows.

We would particularly welcome applications from candidates who have:
- A reasonable level of ecology fieldwork experience, gained through employment, volunteering or study,
- Hold an appropriate degree in wildlife, conservation, ecology or biology,
- A good level of botanical knowledge and an interest in developing it further,
- Have a clean driving licence and access to transport for business use,
- A willingness to learn and contribute to both fieldwork and office based tasks,
- Knowledge in the use of GIS mapping.
