What You'll Be Doing
At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives. We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering, and home decarbonisation.
This role will be within our Electricity Transmission team. We design, build, and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Engineer to join our Energy Network Infrastructure team. You’ll have the opportunity to gain broad experiences working with our team who installs and maintains distribution networks and ensures reliable connections for customers. You’ll be involved in electrical planned work, customer connections, and network reinforcement.

Key Responsibilities
- Work with experienced engineering teams on the planning, construction, and commissioning of high-voltage substations and overhead lines (up to 400kV).
- Support the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of energy networks, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of electricity to critical UK infrastructure.
- Assist with project delivery, including preparation of engineering drawings, technical documentation, and schedules to support on-site operations.
- Get involved in customer connection projects, helping design and connect new customers to the network by contributing to both office-based design and field-based installation work.
- Gain practical experience through site-based activities, such as asset inspections, network reinforcement, outage management, and condition monitoring.
- Participate in risk assessments, method statement reviews, and implement health, safety, and environmental (HSE) best practice on every project.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, customers, and multiple internal stakeholders, developing your professional communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
- Support commercial aspects of project delivery, including cost control, resource scheduling, and progress reporting.

- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Great communication skills and a willingness to learn.
