Job title: Graduate Electrical Engineer

Location: Belfast

Purpose & Scope of the Role

Tetra Tech is a leading technical, engineering and environmental consultancy delivering data-driven solutions across water, environment, infrastructure, energy and international development. With over 6,000 people and 50+ offices across the UK and Europe, we combine local delivery with global capability. This Graduate Electrical Engineer role sits within our established team of experienced engineers, supporting building services work across life sciences, defence, commercial, education, industrial, residential, leisure, healthcare and retail sectors, in both public and private domains.

Your Impact in this position

You’ll support the design and delivery of diverse projects, including healthcare, major government clients, universities, workplace solutions and decarbonisation portfolios. Working with local and wider office teams, you’ll contribute to practical, cost-effective engineering solutions and help deliver projects through design, administration and client engagement.

5 Core Capabilities

  • Electrical Engineering Design – Support electrical engineering designs and calculations for a range of building projects.
  • Design Review & Verification – Assist with design reviews and verification checks to maintain quality and compliance.
  • Contract Administration – Support the contract administration of projects across delivery stages.
  • Project Delivery Support – Help deliver varied projects while providing technical input to the M&E Engineering team.
  • Stakeholder Liaison – Work effectively with clients, architects, contractors and wider project stakeholders.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

You’ll need a minimum 2:1 degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services or a related subject, plus previous technical/industry experience. Strong MS Office skills, proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, excellent communication, self-motivation and a full driver’s licence are required.

Working Environment

Based in Belfast, with hybrid working supported in line with team and project needs. As a graduate role, there will be an expectation to spend more time in the office initially to support learning, collaboration and development, with occasional travel as required.
