Using just cacao, coconut, and vanilla, PLAYIN CHOC produces vegan chocolate that is free from nuts, soy, gluten, and cane sugar, and contains significantly less sugar than typical alternatives while being rich in vitamins and minerals. Since its launch in 2018, the business has earned more than 30 international industry awards for taste, product quality, and innovation, including recognition for its advent calendars and JustChoc ranges. All toys and packaging are made from recycled board and home-compostable materials, with no plastic used in any products.

The Graduate Electrical Mechanical Engineer will work full time on-site at the PLAYIN CHOC facility in Uxbridge, supporting the design, development, and optimization of production machinery and equipment. Day-to-day tasks include assisting in mechanical and electrical design, creating and updating CAD models and drawings, and contributing to the improvement of manufacturing processes for chocolate and toy production. The role involves participating in research and development activities, testing prototypes, troubleshooting equipment issues, and helping implement engineering solutions that support sustainability and product quality. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, maintain technical documentation, and provide support to project managers in planning, scheduling, and coordinating engineering projects.
Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering and Machine Design skills, with the ability to contribute to equipment design and process optimization.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for modeling, drafting, and revising mechanical and electromechanical components.
- Research and Development (R&D) capabilities for testing, prototyping, and bringing new production solutions from concept to implementation.
- Foundational Project Management skills to assist in planning, tracking, and delivering engineering tasks on time and within scope.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Understanding of manufacturing or process engineering in a food, FMCG, or packaging environment is beneficial.
- Awareness of sustainability principles, material selection, and efficient use of energy and resources in engineering design.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team.
