The Opportunity

We are seeking a Graduate Electronic Design Engineer to join our Electronic Engineering team in St Asaph. The role will support the design, development, verification, and delivery of low-power electronic systems, modules, and sub-assemblies for advanced vision systems.

You will work as part of a supportive multi-disciplinary engineering team, gaining practical experience across new product introduction, production support, test, and continuous improvement activities.

This is an entry-level, hands-on role offering structured technical development, exposure to experienced engineers, and the opportunity to build a broad foundation in electronic design.

Key Responsibilities

You will support the electronic design contribution within integrated project teams. Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the definition of hardware, firmware, embedded software, and system requirements.
  • Assist with the design, development, and documentation of electronic systems, modules, and sub-assemblies.
  • Produce calculations, test records, drawings, and engineering reports with guidance from experienced engineers.
  • Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and verification activities.
  • Verify hardware, firmware, embedded software, and applications against agreed requirements.
  • Support debugging of hardware/software integration using laboratory tools, test equipment, and development environments.
  • Work with PCB layout, manufacturing, test, and production teams to support product development and delivery.
  • Support technical investigations, problem solving, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Contribute technical input to project documentation, and proposals where appropriate.
  • Develop knowledge of relevant technologies, design standards, tools, and engineering processes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
