Role Overview
Due to the company's continued growth, there is an exciting opportunity for a talented recently Graduated Electronics Engineer to join our small team of engineers, including three PhD qualified engineers.
This is a new position within the company.
The successful candidate is expected to develop quickly and progress to Senior Engineer in 2 to 3 years.
Key Responsibilities
You will
- Develop and improve our existing current sensors
- Design and implement custom solutions working in conjunction with our customers, many of whom are skilled engineers themselves
- Providing engineering input on new product design on a variety of aspects such as CE compliance, power supply design, analogue design and even mechanical aspects of product housing
- Identifying and undertaking a wide variety of type testing to validate performance and inform the design process
- Producing detailed reports and documentation for customers, or to support the product design or calibration teams
- Help develop automated test processes for larger volume and new products

The successful candidate will have to be able to work across a diverse range of functions, and work collaboratively across the company.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have;
- A minimum of 1st class or 2:1 degree BEng or BSc (hons) or equivalent in electronic / electrical engineering or related area at a Russell Group or equivalent University
- Proactive and able to be highly autonomous, PEM is a small, ambitious company so the flexibility to undertake a wide variety of roles is essential
- Communication skills –excellent communicator who can write and speak well, and maintain positive relationships with staff, suppliers and customers
- High level knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to design PCB from schematic capture
- Good working knowledge of SPICE or other circuit simulation packages
- Good working knowledge of MATLAB
- A high level of CAD drawing capability
