Graduate Aerospace Engineer

Location: Somerset

Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 + Benefits

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Launch Your Engineering Career in Aerospace Manufacturing

Our client is a well-established precision engineering and manufacturing business supplying complex, high-integrity components to customers within the aerospace and other highly regulated sectors.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an ambitious Graduate Aerospace Engineer to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience across the full product lifecycle, from new product introduction and manufacturing development through to production and ongoing customer support.

Working alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists, you will develop practical engineering knowledge while building valuable project management, manufacturing and quality assurance skills.

The Role

As a Graduate Aerospace Engineer, you will support the successful introduction of new products into manufacture, helping to ensure projects are delivered on time, to specification and in line with customer requirements.

This role offers broad exposure to aerospace manufacturing processes, engineering project delivery and quality systems, making it an ideal opportunity for graduates looking to build a long-term career within the aerospace sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and product development activities.
  • Review engineering drawings, customer specifications and technical requirements.
  • Assist in planning, coordinating and tracking engineering projects.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, quality and supply chain teams.
  • Participate in manufacturability and production readiness reviews.
  • Support validation, inspection and quality assurance activities.
  • Assist with project reporting, milestone tracking and risk management.
  • Contribute to process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Attend customer, supplier and internal project meetings where required.
  • Support the successful transition of new products into production.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of organisation and attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical information.
  • A genuine interest in aerospace engineering and manufacturing.

Desirable

  • Industrial placement, internship or academic project experience within engineering or manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, casting or inspection.
  • Understanding of engineering quality standards and continuous improvement principles.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies or engineering project delivery.
  • Experience using engineering, CAD or project planning software.
