Graduate Software Developer
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne (Office-based, 5 days per week)
Salary: £33,000 per annum + 10% Performance Bonus
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role
We are looking for exceptional Graduate Software Developers to join our growing engineering team in Newcastle. This is an opportunity for ambitious graduates to begin their careers in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where you'll work alongside experienced engineers to design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions. You'll gain hands-on experience across the full software development lifecycle while receiving mentorship and support to accelerate your technical and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
- Collaborate with developers, product teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software issues.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Learn and apply modern software engineering best practices.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must have:
- A First-Class Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a closely related STEM discipline.
- Graduated from a Russell Group university.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A solid understanding of software development fundamentals.
- Experience with at least one modern programming language (such as Java, C#, Python, C++, JavaScript, or similar).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for technology and software engineering.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Git or other version control systems.
- Knowledge of databases (SQL or NoSQL).
- Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Exposure to web technologies or modern development frameworks.
- Personal software projects, internships, hackathons, or open-source contributions.

Working Pattern
This is a full-time, office-based role in our Newcastle office, working five days per week. We believe close collaboration and in-person mentoring provide the best environment for graduates to develop their skills and build successful careers.
