Role Description
The Graduate Engineer role at Export Energy is a full-time hybrid position based in Bath, United Kingdom, with flexibility for some work from home. In this role, the Graduate Engineer supports the design, analysis, and implementation of renewable energy solutions, with a particular focus on solar PV and energy efficiency measures for commercial clients. An important niche service we provide is the arrangement of metering and data comms to sell the excess solar electricity that is exported to the Grid. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with energy audits, data collection and analysis, carbon footprint assessments, and the preparation of technical reports and proposals. The Graduate Engineer collaborates with senior engineers to evaluate system performance, and liaise with suppliers and contractors. The role also involves contributing to project documentation, maintaining accurate records, and helping to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.

- Educational background in engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Energy, Environmental, or related discipline), preferably at degree level or equivalent.
- Knowledge of renewable energy technologies, particularly solar PV, and a strong interest in Net Zero, sustainability, and decarbonisation.
- Ability to work with technical data, including energy consumption figures and carbon calculations, and to use basic analytical or engineering software tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports, presentations, and client-facing documentation.
- Good organisational and time-management skills, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and support project delivery in a consultancy environment.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a small, mission-driven team, both in-office within the Bath area and remotely.
- Awareness of relevant UK energy and climate policies or standards is beneficial; any internship or project experience in energy or sustainability is an advantage.
- Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom and willingness to travel within the region for site visits and client meetings when required.
