Graduate Engineer

Job Description
As a Graduate Engineer here at Jee, we want you to feel supported, inspired, and proud to be part of our well-established engineering firm. Jee is a leading independent pipeline and subsea engineering consultancy operating in the global energy sector since 1988.
From day one, you will be working on exciting projects alongside the senior staff who will help you learn all the necessary technical skills. We have a full suite of training courses which will help you in building your skills.
Aside from engineering, you will get exposure to the broader business, interacting with finance, HR, sales, suppliers, and customers. This role will involve occasional travel within the UK and abroad. Your career route through to being an engineering consultant will be to establish a sound technical base, then add project management and sales skills.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Work
- Design of new offshore installations and modifications to existing ones
- Integrity Management – keeping existing subsea infrastructure working safely, extending their useful lifetimes
- Project Management – organising projects – we have a number of pigging campaigns at present
- Decommissioning – tidying up and looking after the environment at the end of life
Project Management
- Assist the project manager with day-to-day project tasks
- Reporting and progress assessment
- Client interface for data, progress, queries

- Write proposals
- Support the sales and marketing team with internal tasks to increase sales

Person Specification
Qualifications
- 2.1 Master’s degree or higher in engineering, aeronautics, naval architecture, maths, or physics
- Right to work in the UK indefinitely
Knowledge
- Links to or awareness of the energy sector (desirable)
Experience
- Experience of working in an office environment (essential)
- Experience in the energy sector (desirable)
Skills and Ability
- Intermediate level skills in MS Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams, CoPilot, PowerPoint, Browser
- Touch typing
- Competent in maths and analysis – you need to enjoy doing these
- Comfortable with writing and speaking in clear English with correct grammar and syntax
- CAD skills, FE analysis skills, Mathcad or similar (desirable)

- Able to listen, understand instructions, and carry out tasks
- Organised, able to prioritise tasks
- A self-starter with willingness to learn
- Interests and involvement outside of engineering
- Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately at all levels
