Summary

Harris Academy Billericay is looking to appoint a dedicated and resourceful individual as a graduate Tutor in English.

The actual salary for this role is £22,122.32-£22,463.67 (37.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year).

About Us

Through a broad and challenging curriculum, expert teaching and rich opportunities beyond the classroom, we seek to make those words a reality for every student. When Ofsted visited the academy, inspectors recognised many of the qualities on which we continue to build: students who enjoy learning, treat one another and adults with respect, and benefit from an ambitious curriculum and high expectations.

A strong sense of belonging is fundamental to this. We want every student to feel safe, known and valued, while understanding that being part of our community also brings high expectations. Every young person should feel that they belong here and that their success matters.

We are proud of the reputation Harris Academy Billericay enjoys within our local community and of the trust families place in us. Many staff members choose to send their own children here, which speaks powerfully about their belief in the academy. Our responsibility is to build on these strengths while continuing to ask how we can be even better for the young people we serve.

Main Areas of Responsibility

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Delivering programmes of study to small groups of students in a 1:1 setting
  • Ensuring students are given every opportunity to meet their examination and/or liaising with parents regarding the attendance, progress and attitude of designated students
  • Maintaining records of students' progress in relation to their examination targets
  • Completing relevant marking and providing feedback
  • Within a whole class setting, highlighting individual students' learning needs to the teacher and agreeing on how they will be supported
  • Assisting the teacher in evaluating identified students' progress through agreed assessment activities
  • Supporting identified students to engage with the learning objectives set for the lesson
  • Planning with teachers the role they will take in the lesson, preparing resources that meet the students' needs and interests

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
