Graduate Events Manager
Who We Are
Volta Ventures runs live sales events and in-store retail campaigns for major telecoms brands across the West Midlands. We're growing fast, and almost everyone leading a team here started in exactly the seat you'd be starting in — we build our managers from the ground up rather than hiring them in.
We're based in Birmingham city centre — a short walk from New Street, Moor Street, and Snow Hill, and an easy commute from right across the West Midlands.
The Role
This is a graduate management-track role. The destination is leading your own team and running your own events and retail campaigns — the question is how fast you get there.
You'll start on the ground at our live events and in-store retail campaigns, working face to face with customers. That's deliberate: you can't lead a team through a campaign you've never run yourself, and it's the fastest, most honest way to learn what actually makes one work. From there, progression is structured and fast for people who earn it — hiring and onboarding your own event staff, coaching new starters, owning targets, and eventually leading teams across multiple sites.
What You'll Be Doing
- Learning the campaign from the ground up — face-to-face events and retail work for major telecoms brands
- Recruiting, onboarding, and training new event and retail staff as you progress
- Coaching and developing team members on site, one-to-one and in groups
- Owning campaign targets and reporting on team and individual performance
- Taking on increasing responsibility for running events and retail locations
- Working toward leading teams across multiple sites
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We're Looking For
We care far more about attitude than your degree subject. You'll do well here if you're:
- A natural leader — people already come to you when something needs organising
- Competitive — you want a target and you want to beat it, and you want your team to beat theirs
- Organised — you can run several things, and several people, at once
- A strong communicator — confident starting conversations and confident giving direction
- Ambitious about people, not just numbers — you want to develop others, not just perform yourself
Any degree background welcome. No previous management or work experience needed — full training provided, starting on the ground and building toward leading a team.
What You Get
- Structured management development programme — a defined path from graduate trainee to team leader to running your own events and retail campaigns
- Base salary plus uncapped commission — a guaranteed foundation, with earnings rising in line with what you and your team deliver
- Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm, with extra hours available if you want to earn more
- International and domestic travel opportunities
- Networking events, team socials, and Rising Stars recognition for top performers
