About the Job

Kent is looking for a Graduate Fluid Mechanics Engineer to be based in London.

Joining our team, you would develop your knowledge and experience by carrying out advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling for a broad spectrum of clients and industries, including oil & gas, offshore wind, and infrastructure. You would have the opportunity to work with and learn from technical experts to provide consequence modelling and risk assessments, such as dispersion, fire and explosion modelling, among a range of other services.

The Kent Fluid Mechanics team provides technical engineering consultancy to the energy industry for problems related to fluid flow and heat transfer. This includes projects in conventional oil and gas, as well as the energy transition (for example LNG, hydrogen and offshore wind). Typical projects include safety assessments (gas dispersion, fire modelling, explosion analysis, gas detection) as well as hydrodynamic assessments, heat transfer and flow assurance. We also support a range of other sectors including power and the built environment.

This information will help us assess the relevance of your academic background to the role. Please ensure that confirmation of your completed modules is submitted alongside your CV as part of your application.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
