Wheal Jane Consultancy provides geotechnical, environmental, and mining services across the South West, supporting projects from initial assessment through to implementation. The consultancy is known for working closely with clients to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions that meet regulatory requirements and project objectives. Role Description

The Graduate Geo-environmental Engineer will support site investigations, data collection, and analysis for geotechnical, environmental, and mining projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with ground investigations, sampling soil, preparing reports, and remediation plans.

The role also involves liaising with clients and regulators under supervision. This is a full-time hybrid role, based in Baldhu, with a combination of on-site work and office-based tasks, as project needs allow. We are also open to a part-time role for the right candidate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills, with attention to detail and the ability to interpret field and laboratory data.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions and willingness to travel to sites across the South West.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive approach to learning from senior colleagues.
  • Familiarity with soil/rock logging is an advantage.
  • A valid driving license is beneficial for site work and regional travel.

Salary based on experience + benefits
