Graduate Engineering Geologist

Location: Coventry

Salary: GBP26,000 - GBP30,000 (Dependent on Experience)

About The Role

An established environmental and engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Graduate Engineering Geologist to join their expanding Coventry team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with up to one year of industry experience to begin their career within a supportive and experienced consultancy.

You will gain hands-on experience working on a wide variety of ground investigation, geotechnical, and contaminated land projects, supporting developments from initial site investigations through to reporting and project delivery. With a combination of site work, office-based reporting, and structured training, this role offers excellent long-term career progression.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist with ground investigations on a variety of sites.
  • Log soil and rock samples in accordance with industry standards.
  • Carry out groundwater and ground gas monitoring.
  • Support Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Collect environmental and geotechnical samples for laboratory testing.
  • Prepare factual reports with support from senior colleagues.
  • Maintain accurate site records and technical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Assist with data interpretation and technical report preparation.
  • Liaise professionally with clients, contractors, and the wider project team.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Earth Sciences, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Previous site investigation experience through a placement, internship, or graduate role is beneficial but not essential.
  • A willingness to work outdoors and travel to project sites across the UK.
  • Strong communication and report writing skills.
  • Good organisational skills and a proactive approach to learning.
  • Full UK driving licence (or working towards obtaining one).
