Graduate Geotechnical Engineer : Cambridge

Salary: GBP28,000 - GBP32,000 (dependent on experience)

A leading engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join their growing team in Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to develop their technical skills across a range of exciting geotechnical projects, working alongside experienced engineers and specialists.

The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of ground investigation, geotechnical design, and reporting projects across residential, commercial, and infrastructure sectors. You will gain hands-on experience both in the office and on site, developing your understanding of ground conditions, soil behaviour, and engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of ground investigations
  • Logging soils and rocks in accordance with industry standards
  • Preparing factual and interpretative ground investigation reports
  • Supporting geotechnical assessments and calculations
  • Carrying out site visits and monitoring works
  • Assisting senior engineers with geotechnical design solutions
  • Interpreting site investigation data and laboratory test results
  • Working with multidisciplinary teams on a range of projects

Requirements

  • BSc or MSc degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related subject
  • A strong academic background with an interest in geotechnical engineering
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • A willingness to work both in the office and on site
  • Full UK driving licence (or working towards one) would be advantageous
