Location: Ballymena (Hybrid - 2 days per week in office)

The Role

Are you a GIS enthusiast who loves the intersection of geography and technology? As a GIS Technician at PlotBox, you’ll play a vital role in our Operations department. Reporting to the Senior GIS Technician, you will work as part of our mapping team to deliver high-quality mapping solutions that meet our customers' unique needs.

This isn't just about data entry; it’s about contributing to the continual innovation of our product and ensuring our cemetery mapping remains world-class.

What you'll do:

  • Mapping Foundations: Creating Cemetery Specs from Google MyMaps and tabulating data accurately via Google Spreadsheets.
  • Visual Precision: Creating georeferenced aerial mosaics and using Photoshop to refine and alter TIFFs, PNGs, and JPEGs.
  • Webmap Architecture: Building and maintaining webmaps through ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online.
  • Standards & Innovation: Championing product consistency and supporting the implementation of global standards.
  • Collaborative Support: Identifying ways to improve current product capabilities and assisting the wider mapping team on various high-priority projects.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Education: A Degree in a GIS-related subject or equivalent professional experience.
  • GIS Software: Proficiency using ArcGIS Pro.
  • Design Tools: Hands-on experience with Photoshop for image manipulation.
  • Technical Suite: Familiarity with G Suite ecosystem (Mail, Drive, Docs, etc.).
  • Geospatial Basics: Experience working within Google MyMaps.
