Job Description
The internship position is for a period of twelve months, subject to extension based on the needs of the Office. The operating office is at 37 Bucks Road (First Floor) Douglas, IM1 3DE, Isle of Man for this role.
Responsibilities
The programme is normally full-time, i.e., an intern is expected to work five days per week (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) in the office to which he/she is assigned, carrying out his/her tasks under the supervision of a staff member – the supervisor.
Daily Responsibilities Will Include
- Support team members with data cleaning from primary or secondary sources and maintaining databases/data systems;
- Contribute to the search for approaches and methods that will lead to innovative data products;
- Create simple data visualizations for internal or external use independently;
- Perform ongoing monitoring and refinement of reports;
- Provide technical support for existing reports, dashboards, or other tools;
- Helps identify and analyse errors and inconsistencies in data and proposes timely resolutions;
- Provide support in translating data results in written reports, or presentations to convey information to management;
- Attend all data and internal training as advised by the organisation.
Competencies
Professionalism: Good analytical skills with the ability to support the collection, organization, management, and dissemination of information. The ability to support the analysis and interpretation of data in support of decision-making and convey information succinctly. Knowledge of programming language to wrangle data for decision-making. Familiarity with queries, report writing, and presenting findings. Takes pride in the work for the organization and understands the impact that can be brought into the organization by allowing data-driven and evidence-based decisions. Ability to apply judgment in the context of assignments given, plan own work and manage conflicting priorities.

Education
To qualify for the Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:
- Applicants must have completed a degree programme in the field of computer science, analytics, statistics, information management, public administration, management or related field or
- Applicants pursuing their studies in countries where higher education is not divided into undergraduate and graduate stages must have completed at least four years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution toward the completion of a degree.

Work Experience
No working experience is required to apply for the Internship Programme. The training, education, advanced course work, or skills should benefit the organisation during your internship. The ability to use data to advance decisions, strategies, and execution is desirable. Knowledge of Python is an advantage. Understanding data modeling using self-service analytics and data visualization applications (MS PowerBI, Qlik, Tableau, or similar) is an advantage.
Languages
Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the Internship Programme.
Assessment
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by a competency-based interview.
REMUNERATION
Interns are financially remunerated by organisation. The minimum living wage is budgeted for this position.

Anticipated Start date is October 2, 2023.
