Role Purpose
The role of the investment oversight team is to work with partners (investment managers and sponsors) to ensure that investment outcomes are delivered in line with investor expectations.
The role of the Investment Oversight Associate is to support the Investment Oversight team by gathering, validating, analysing and presenting quantitative data to facilitate the effective oversight of investment managers and fund ranges.
The role will help automate and enhance oversight activities through the application of data science, Python programming, artificial intelligence tools and process optimisation techniques.
The successful candidate will work closely with Investment Oversight Analysts to improve efficiency, increase the quality of reporting and monitoring, and enable analysts to focus on the interpretation of information and delivery of insights.
The role combines investment data analysis, technology, automation and operational support, providing an excellent development opportunity for individuals seeking a career within investment oversight, investment management, data science or financial technology.
Key Responsibilities
Data Management & Analysis
- Collect, validate and maintain investment, portfolio, benchmark and market data from internal and external sources.
- Produce regular quantitative monitoring reports and management information for the Investment Oversight team.
- Assist in the preparation of performance, risk and portfolio analytics used within manager oversight activities.
- Support the maintenance and enhancement of manager scorecards and oversight dashboards.
- Perform data quality reviews and investigate anomalies identified within oversight data sets.
- Prepare data files, visualisations and analysis packs to support oversight reviews and committee reporting.

Automation & Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline existing processes through the application of technology and data solutions.
- Assist in maintaining documentation for automated processes and controls.
Artificial Intelligence & Innovation
- Support the implementation and adoption of approved AI tools within the Investment Oversight team.
- Use AI solutions to assist with information gathering, document analysis, meeting note summarisation and report preparation.
- Help identify opportunities where AI can improve oversight effectiveness, efficiency or risk management.
- Work with stakeholders to ensure AI-enabled processes comply with internal governance, risk and regulatory requirements.
Oversight & Reporting Support
- Support Investment Oversight Analysts in preparing due diligence and monitoring materials.
- Assist in the production of Investment Oversight Committee papers and supporting documentation.
- Support portfolio stress testing, benchmark review and quantitative analysis activities.
- Maintain central repositories of oversight information, research and supporting evidence.
- Assist with ESG and sustainability-related data collection and reporting initiatives where required.
Team Support
- Provide analytical support to the Investment Oversight team.
- Contribute ideas for improving oversight methodologies, reporting and operational processes.
- Participate in team projects and initiatives as directed by the Investment Partnership and Oversight Director

Essential Qualifications
Qualifications
- Degree (2:1 or above) in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline.
Beneficial Qualifications
- IMC qualification or working towards.
- Data science, AI or programming certifications.
Essential Technical Knowledge
- Python programming, data analysis libraries and familiarity with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot or Claude.
- Understanding of data structures and basic automation concepts.
Beneficial Technical Knowledge
- Experience developing automation solutions and working with APIs.
- Machine learning or AI workflow experience.
Essential Experience
- Graduate or up to 2 years' experience in investments, financial services, data analytics, technology, or a related field.
Beneficial Experience
- Experience within asset management, fund oversight, risk, performance analysis or fintech.
