Graduate IT Support Engineer

About the Role

Are you a recent Information Technology (IT) graduate looking to launch your career in the technology industry? We are seeking a motivated, technically curious, and customer-focused Graduate IT Support Engineer to join our growing technology team.

This entry-level role is ideal for graduates who want to build practical experience across IT support, networking, cloud computing, systems administration, cybersecurity, and infrastructure.

No prior professional experience is required. Full training and mentorship will be provided to help you develop practical technical skills and progress within the IT industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical support to users for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic Windows, application, network, and system problems.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computers, laptops, peripherals, and software.
  • Assist with user account creation, password resets, and access management.
  • Support Microsoft 365 applications and user environments.
  • Monitor IT systems, networks, and infrastructure under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Assist with network troubleshooting involving TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN connectivity.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT or infrastructure teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, service requests, and technical resolutions.
  • Assist with IT asset management and software inventory.
  • Follow IT security policies and support basic cybersecurity controls.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge-base articles.
  • Participate in IT projects, system upgrades, migrations, and technology deployments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Recent graduate or up to 1 year of experience.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and customer-service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Skills

  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN/WAN, and networking fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and user administration.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure.
  • Understanding of Linux fundamentals is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with IT service management concepts such as ITIL is beneficial.
  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or Zendesk is advantageous.
  • Academic projects, university labs, internships, certifications, or personal IT projects are beneficial but not required.
