Graduate / Junior Quantity Surveyor Required In Essex

GVR Solutions are working with a highly regarded drylining and interior fit-out contractor based in Essex delivering high-quality commercial projects across London and the South East. With an excellent reputation for quality, professionalism and long-standing client relationships, they are looking to recruit a motivated Graduate or Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to develop their career within the construction industry. You will work alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors, gaining hands-on experience across a diverse range of drylining projects while receiving ongoing support and mentoring.

Responsibilities Of The Junior Quantity Surveyor

  • Assist in the commercial management of multiple drylining and fit-out projects.
  • Support the preparation of cost plans, budgets, and tender submissions.
  • Assist with procurement of subcontractors and material packages.
  • Measure works and prepare valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Monitor project costs and assist in preparing cost reports.
  • Review subcontractor applications and payments.
  • Liaise with site teams, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Help identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout project delivery.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping and contract documentation.
  • Support senior members of the commercial team with day-to-day project administration.

Requirements Of The Junior Quantity Surveyor

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related construction discipline (or working towards one).
  • Previous placement experience within construction is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Eager to learn and develop within a specialist subcontracting environment.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
