Job Overview

Marlowe Environmental Services (MES), part of Mitie, is seeking a motivated Graduate Laboratory Technician to join our Laboratory Team in Daventry. This role involves quality control testing, chemical analysis, technical investigations, and project-based work, offering excellent development opportunities with full training provided.

Main Duties

  • Perform quality control testing on water treatment and chemical products.
  • Conduct chemical analysis and accurately record and report results.
  • Assist with troubleshooting product performance issues and investigating technical challenges.
  • Support research, development, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Prepare technical reports and maintain laboratory records and documentation.
  • Calibrate, verify, and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Manage and prioritise a varied and dynamic workload to meet business and customer requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory quality standards, health and safety procedures, and company policies.

What We Are Looking For

  • A degree in Chemistry, or a science-related degree with a significant chemistry component.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent documentation and recording skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • An understanding of laboratory health and safety practices.
