Job Description

At SLR we believe strongly in the influence of landscape architecture to shape and lead our interaction with the natural and built environment, in a way that is responsible and innovative, helping to tackle the climate emergency and set the agenda for a more sustainable way of living.

The Role

Working alongside skilled and passionate landscape architects, the graduate role provides experience in a wide range of landscape planning, masterplanning and design projects across various sectors. These projects are located throughout the UK and Ireland, with a range of public and private sector clients, some at the early planning stages, others moving towards implementation and some already on site. This array of experience allows you to develop a broad understanding of what landscape architecture offers at this early stage of your career, before the possibility of focusing in on a chosen area.

We aim to introduce you to project and client work early on, maximising your performance in your role and kick-starting your career, whilst providing hands-on support and mentorship at all stages.

As a graduate you will automatically be enrolled on our structured Graduate Programme which will support both your technical and business development giving you a great foundation for a rewarding and dynamic career. You will be provided with opportunities to collaborate on diverse projects across the country and with our wider global SLR network. We want to help you find your own voice within the world of landscape architecture and are dedicated to providing learning initiatives and mentorship that support your personal and professional development.

Once settled, we would hope to assist you in enrolling in the Pathway to Chartership. You would receive support from a P2C mentor, other graduates enrolled, experienced members of the team and given the multi-discipline nature of SLR, members of other teams such as ecology and engineering.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
