About the Team
The Landscape team sits within Amey Consulting’s Climate & Place practice, part of the Energy, Transition & Sustainability (ET&S) business. We bring together landscape architecture, climate resilience and placemaking expertise to create attractive, inclusive and sustainable places that respond positively to environmental change. Working across infrastructure, transport, energy and development projects, the team helps clients embed green infrastructure, biodiversity, resilience and long-term value into the design and management of places.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Landscape Architect to develop their career within an enthusiastic and supportive team of landscape professionals. You will contribute to projects across the UK, helping to shape climate-resilient places through public realm design, landscape and visual impact assessment (LVIA), landscape strategies, green infrastructure and detailed planting design. Supported by experienced colleagues, you will gain practical experience across the full project lifecycle, from early concepts and assessment through to detailed design, specification and site delivery.
The role will be supported by Amey’s hybrid working approach, with time split between the Birmingham office, project sites where required, and remote working where appropriate. This flexible arrangement will allow the successful candidate to collaborate closely with colleagues, receive regular support and mentoring, and build confidence as they develop towards an Assistant Landscape Architect role.

What you’ll be doing
- Support the development of climate-resilient landscape and public realm designs from concept through to detailed design and delivery.
- Contribute to landscape and visual impact assessments, landscape appraisals, baseline studies and supporting reports.
- Assist in preparing landscape strategies, green infrastructure proposals, design guidance and mitigation plans.
- Develop hard and soft landscape proposals, including planting plans, schedules, specifications and construction information.
- Undertake site visits, surveys and design reviews to help deliver high-quality, buildable and maintainable landscapes.
- Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to create inclusive, distinctive places that respond to climate, nature and community needs.

What we’re looking for

To be considered, you'll need to meet the following requirements:
- A degree (minimum 2:1) in Landscape Architecture or any other relevant subject.
- Strong knowledge of plants and construction materials.
- Ability to use various computer software programmes relevant to role; Competent using AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop or Sketchup.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player, self-motivated and fast learner.
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage time with multiple tasks with limited supervision.
