A growing and well-established law firm is seeking a Legal Cashier to join its busy finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build or further develop their career within legal finance, working in a supportive and collaborative environment with clear opportunities for progression.
The Role
Reporting to a Senior Legal Cashier, you will play a key role in managing financial transactions and ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules. Working closely with fee earners, compliance, and finance colleagues, you'll support the smooth running of the firm's cashiering and finance functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing financial transactions across client and office accounts
- Posting receipts and preparing electronic payment runs
- Performing daily and weekly bank reconciliations
- Managing purchase ledger invoices and supplier queries
- Raising electronic and cheque payments
- Assisting with credit control activities
- Investigating and resolving ledger balances
- Supporting compliance and risk management processes
- Providing administrative support to the finance department
- Liaising with fee earners and internal stakeholders to improve financial processes

About You
We're keen to hear from candidates who have:
- Degree in business, finance or other relevant subject
- Previous finance, cashiering, accounts, or legal finance experience
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
- A proactive and team-focused approach

Previous experience within a law firm, knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules, use of Proclaim, or exposure to legal practice management systems would be advantageous.
