Graduate Management Trainee

Our Graduate Management Trainee opportunity is for an IMMEDIATE START only, if you're graduating in 2027 please get in touch next year.

Learn the Business Where the Work Happens

Sage Associates delivers in-person customer acquisition campaigns for established brands. Your early experience will involve speaking directly with prospective customers, understanding their needs, and explaining the relevant service. This is practical sales and marketing work, rather than a digital marketing placement or a purely classroom-based graduate program.

  • You will learn the campaign brief before applying it in conversations. That means understanding the offer, recognizing which questions need a more experienced colleague, and communicating accurately when someone is considering a purchase.
  • Listening matters as much as speaking confidently.
  • A customer should understand what they are agreeing to, without feeling rushed into a decision.

Coaching and practical feedback will help you improve. You will be expected to use that feedback, ask questions when something is unclear, and become increasingly dependable in your own campaign work.

Your subject does not need to be business or marketing. A research project may have taught you to challenge an assumption; a presentation may have required you to explain a complex point simply. Those are useful starting skills. What matters is your willingness to adapt them to live customer conversations, where the response is immediate and the next question cannot always be anticipated.

Turn Experience into Commercial Understanding

Once you have a grasp of the customer interaction, the next challenge is understanding the results behind it. You will record activity and customer outcomes, contribute to campaign reviews, and learn to recognize the difference between a busy day and an effective one.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

  • For example, a change in conversion may prompt a closer look at how the service was explained or whether customer questions were answered fully.

Your contribution is to bring accurate information and useful observations, rather than jump to conclusions from a single result. This is where analytical habits developed through study become useful. You will practice explaining a finding clearly, considering alternative explanations, and suggesting a practical improvement. Reporting should help the team make better decisions.

Build Towards Supporting Other People

Management development follows practical competence. Through mentorship from experienced leaders and structured development sessions, you will learn how campaign activity is organized and how constructive feedback helps colleagues improve.

  • As your experience develops, there may be opportunities to assist with team briefings, support newer colleagues, and contribute to campaign planning.
  • You will also gain exposure to the operational considerations behind business growth.
  • These responsibilities depend on your readiness and the needs of the business; they are not an automatic appointment to a management position.

Someone who performs well individually still needs to learn how to explain a task patiently and recognize when another person needs a different approach. We want you to develop that judgment alongside your commercial skills.

Applications are welcome from graduates in any subject. You do not need an existing management job on your CV. Relevant evidence can come from paid work, a university project, volunteering, or responsibility within a club or society.

  • A completed degree and an interest in applying your learning outside an academic setting.
  • Clear spoken communication, with enough written accuracy to produce useful campaign notes.
  • An example of following through on a commitment when competing priorities made it difficult.
  • Willingness to work directly with customers and be accountable for sales activity.
  • Confidence with straightforward figures and the patience to check what they actually show.
  • An open response to feedback, including when your first approach has not worked.

You will need to be available for full-time, on-site work from Monday to Friday. This is an immediate recruitment opportunity, so include your earliest realistic start date rather than assuming a future graduate intake.

There are demanding parts to the work. Some customers will decline, progress will not always be even, and development involves repeating a skill until it becomes reliable. You should be comfortable with that practical learning process and with discussing your performance honestly.

Submit your CV through LinkedIn. Alongside your academic background, show us one example of learning something difficult and using it successfully. We are interested in the decisions you made and what changed as a result.
