Graduate Marketing & Operations Assistant

Jalna Group of Companies

Location: In person

Salary: £13,750.20–£30,000 per year

Job type: Graduate / Early Career

About Jalna Group

Jalna Group is a diverse and growing group of businesses operating across a range of industries, including steel fabrication, hospitality, food and drink, wine, and holiday accommodation.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and highly organised Graduate Marketing & Operations Assistant to join our team.

This is a varied, hands-on role designed for a recent graduate or early-career professional who wants to build practical marketing experience while gaining a broader understanding of how businesses operate day to day.

You will work across several businesses within the Jalna Group, supporting everything from social media, content creation, and websites to events, customer communication, administration, and wider business projects.

No two days are necessarily the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and wants to develop a broad commercial skill set early in their career.

The Role

The role combines two key areas: Marketing and Business Operations.

You will help manage and develop the digital presence of businesses across the group while also supporting management and the wider team with the organisation and administration required to keep projects and day-to-day operations running smoothly.

We are looking for someone who can bring ideas to the table, create engaging content, stay organised across multiple projects, and confidently communicate with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.

Marketing Responsibilities

You will support the planning and delivery of marketing activity across multiple Jalna Group brands.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Creating, scheduling, and managing engaging content across social media platforms.
  • Taking photographs and filming video content for social media, websites, campaigns, and promotional materials.
  • Editing short-form social media content, including Reels and other digital video.
  • Writing engaging social media captions, website copy, promotional messaging, and other marketing content.
  • Developing social media campaigns to promote businesses, products, services, events, and offers.
  • Helping plan marketing calendars and content schedules across different brands.
  • Monitoring social media engagement and responding to relevant comments, messages, and enquiries.
  • Helping grow and engage online communities.
  • Keeping company websites updated with news, imagery, products, services, events, and promotional information.
  • Supporting email marketing campaigns and customer communications.
  • Assisting with online promotions and digital advertising.
  • Monitoring social media and website performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Using performance data to understand which content and campaigns are generating engagement and results.
  • Maintaining a consistent brand identity and tone of voice across each business.
  • Researching social media trends, competitor activity, and emerging marketing opportunities.
  • Suggesting new campaigns, content ideas, and platforms that could benefit businesses within the group.
  • Supporting the creation of marketing materials for both digital and offline use.
  • Assisting with marketing and promotion for events, launches, and other company activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Operations & Office Support

Alongside marketing, you will gain practical experience in the wider operation of the Jalna Group.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the day-to-day operations of the group and its individual businesses.
  • Providing general administrative and organisational support to management and the wider team.
  • Assisting with emails, telephone enquiries, correspondence, and general office communication.
  • Preparing documents, presentations, spreadsheets, and other business materials.
  • Maintaining customer, supplier, and company records.
  • Helping organise meetings, events, promotions, and other company activities.
  • Liaising with customers, suppliers, and external partners when required.
  • Supporting communication between different businesses and teams within the group.
  • Assisting with enquiries and helping ensure they are directed to the appropriate person.
  • Supporting ongoing projects across the group.
  • Helping organise information, schedules, and documentation.
  • Carrying out data entry and maintaining accurate company information.
  • Assisting with general office tasks where required.
  • Supporting management with ad hoc business and operational projects.

About You

This position would suit someone at the beginning of their career who is looking for an opportunity to gain genuine hands-on experience rather than working within one very narrow area of marketing.

Ideally, you will:

  • Be a recent graduate or early-career professional, ideally with a degree or qualification in Marketing, Business, Communications, Media, or a related subject.
  • Have an interest in digital marketing, social media, and content creation.
  • Have some practical experience creating content or managing social media, whether professionally, through university, freelance work, or personal projects.
  • Be comfortable taking photographs and creating video content.
  • Have strong written communication skills and confidence writing for different audiences.
  • Understand the main social media platforms and how businesses use them.
  • Be organised and able to manage several tasks and priorities at the same time.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.
  • Be confident communicating with customers, suppliers, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Be comfortable using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar software.
  • Be proactive and willing to take responsibility for your own work.
  • Be comfortable working independently while also contributing as part of a wider team.
  • Have a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Be commercially minded and interested in understanding how marketing activity contributes to customers, enquiries, and sales.
  • Be adaptable and comfortable switching between different businesses, industries, and audiences.
  • Be willing to get involved in both the creative and practical sides of the role.

What We Are Looking For

You do not need to arrive knowing everything.

We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, creativity, organisation, and a willingness to learn.

You might spend part of your day creating and editing social media content, then move on to updating a website, helping organise an event, speaking with a supplier, or preparing information for an upcoming project.

Because you will work across several businesses, being adaptable and able to manage your time effectively will be important.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is happy to get involved, bring new ideas to the team, and gradually take ownership of their own projects.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to begin and develop your career within a diverse group of businesses.
  • Hands-on experience across both marketing and business operations.
  • Experience working across multiple sectors, including hospitality, food and drink, wine, holiday accommodation, and steel fabrication.
  • The opportunity to manage real marketing channels and campaigns.
  • Exposure to social media, websites, content creation, events, customer communication, and wider commercial projects.
  • A varied role where you can develop a broad range of transferable skills.
  • The opportunity to suggest ideas and take ownership of projects.
  • A friendly, hands-on working environment.
  • The chance to see the direct impact of your work on the businesses you support.
  • Opportunities to develop greater responsibility as your experience grows.

Why This Role?

This role would suit an ambitious graduate who wants more than a traditional entry-level marketing position.

Rather than focusing on one small part of a marketing department, you will gain experience across the full process: developing ideas, creating content, managing digital channels, supporting promotions, and understanding what happens operationally behind the businesses you are marketing.

It is an opportunity to build both creative marketing skills and practical commercial experience, giving you a strong foundation for your future career.

If you are creative, organised, digitally confident, and excited by the opportunity to work across several different businesses, we would love to hear from you.
