Our client are a specialist building services and energy consultancy delivering mechanical, electrical, sustainability and decarbonisation projects across the UK. With a strong reputation for technical excellence and client–focused engineering, they work across healthcare, education, commercial, residential and public sector developments.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Fareham office.
The Role
Working as part of an experienced multidisciplinary engineering team, you'll be involved in the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects from initial concept through to completion.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their technical design skills while working on a varied portfolio of projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Design mechanical building services systems including HVAC, heating, ventilation, domestic water services and public health systems.
- Produce mechanical calculations, specifications and technical reports.
- Prepare detailed drawings and coordinated designs using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Assist with equipment selection and plant sizing.
- Carry out site surveys and attend client and design meetings.
- Liaise with architects, structural engineers, contractors and clients throughout project delivery.
- Ensure designs comply with current Building Regulations and industry standards.
- Support the delivery of low–carbon and sustainable engineering solutions.
About You
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- Experience within a Building Services consultancy (graduate level or above).
- Knowledge of HVAC and mechanical building services design.
- Experience using AutoCAD, with Revit experience advantageous.
- A good understanding of UK Building Regulations and CIBSE guidance.
- Excellent communication and problem–solving skills.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to continue learning and developing professionally.
