We are looking for a graduate design engineer, this is a permanent job working full-time from our offices in Darlington. The starting salary range for this role is £25k - £30k P.A.
Applicants must be resident in the UK and a graduate in mechanical or automotive engineering.
The job is based in Darlington, working full-time in the office (no working from home) with visits to customer sites.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design of bespoke machinery, robotic automation cells, jigs and fixtures using 3D modelling software.
- 3D printing of prototype parts and assemblies using Markforged and Bambu Labs Printers.
- Create VR layouts for proposals and customer approval.
- Produce 2D manufacturing drawings for components and assemblies.
- Assist in component research and selection.
- Assembly of jigs, fixtures and tooling in a workshop environment.

We are looking for a candidate who can satisfy as many of the following requirements as possible;
- Experience of 3D modelling software such as Siemens NX, Solidworks or Inventor.
- An understanding of engineering drawings and tolerancing.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, fabrication and additive manufacturing.
- Knowledge of material types and their applications.
- Knowledge of automation, pneumatics and mechanical systems.
- An interest in automation along with a willingness to learn and a good attention to detail.
