Report to: Senior Mechanical Engineer or Project/Business Director
Collaborate with:
- Electrical and Mechanical engineers within the Project Team
- Technical support from Senior engineers connected to the project(s) or Project/Business Director
Working towards:
- Graduate Engineer responsibilities:
- Operate on multiple projects with assistance from Mechanical Project engineers.
- Complete detailed mechanical design with support from other Engineers in their design duties.
- Complete calculations to prove design for domestics, ventilation, heating, and cooling systems with support from project engineers.
- Assist with coordinating the design with electrical design members.
- Feed into project engineering team for their attendance in design team meetings.
- Limited attendance alongside project engineer will be required to glean required experience.
- Manage personal design workloads with assistance from project engineer.
- Dates/targets should be agreed with project engineer and aligned with client target dates to ensure timely issue of information.
- Constantly seeks ways of improving the efficiency of their work.
- Continually seek to adopt the most Up-To-Date practices and to be innovative in their application.

- Sustainability Engineers:
- Provide details with modelling input data and criteria.

Quality Assurance:
- Ensure work is completed to a satisfactory standard to ensure clients are satisfied with the quality of service provided.
Knowledge Requirements:
- Basic understanding of the current building regulations, CIBSE documentation, British standards, BSRIA documentation, and all other general design guides associated with the building services industry.
- Expected knowledge of what documents cover what elements, although not full understanding.
- IT literate, with a working knowledge of office, AutoCAD, and Hevacomp.
- Minimum Affiliate or Graduate grade and beginning the process of working towards Member of CIBSE accreditation later in their professional career.
