You’ll learn from experienced professionals, take on real responsibility and see first-hand how engineering solutions progress from design through to installation, testing, commissioning and handover.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Graduate MEICA Engineer, you’ll develop your skills across the engineering and project lifecycle, gaining the experience you need to progress towards professional accreditation.

No two days are the same and, with the support of experienced colleagues, you’ll:

  • Develop your understanding of electrical power, distribution, control and protection systems used within water infrastructure.
  • Assist with the review of electrical designs, drawings, specifications, calculations and technical information.

  • Work collaboratively with mechanical, process, civil, design and construction teams to develop coordinated engineering solutions.
  • Support design reviews and help identify opportunities to improve safety, buildability, efficiency and whole-life performance.
  • Assist with the coordination of specialist suppliers, subcontractors and equipment manufacturers.
  • Support inspections, testing and commissioning activities, helping to demonstrate that systems are installed correctly and perform as intended.
  • Help identify, record and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of engineering documentation, technical records, commissioning information and handover documentation.
  • Develop your understanding of electrical safety, safe systems of work, and relevant engineering standards and regulations.
  • Gain experience in digital engineering, sustainability, energy efficiency and emerging technologies within the water sector.
  • Build strong working relationships with project teams, clients, designers, suppliers and supply chain partners.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
