Purpose & Scope of the Role
We’re seeking talented graduates to join our Nuclear Safety team in Warrington or West Cumbria. In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced nuclear safety consultants, supporting the design, assessment, and delivery of projects that play a vital role in the safe operation, development, and decommissioning of nuclear facilities across the UK.
As part of a collaborative and highly regarded consultancy team, you’ll gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of projects spanning both new build projects and legacy nuclear challenges. Working with industry-leading specialists, you’ll develop your technical expertise while contributing to the delivery of innovative and robust safety solutions.

Your Impact In This Position
As a Graduate Nuclear Safety Consultant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the technical delivery of projects across the nuclear sector. You’ll gain valuable hands-on experience throughout the full project lifecycle, from concept and design through to construction, operation, and decommissioning, helping to deliver solutions that support the UK's current and future energy needs.
Working within multidisciplinary teams, you’ll collaborate with colleagues from a range of technical disciplines, attend client meetings and site visits, and contribute to the production of a variety of nuclear safety assessments. These assessments help demonstrate that risks to site operators, the public, and the environment are appropriately managed, acceptable, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
With the support of experienced mentors and access to a structured graduate development programme, you’ll develop the technical knowledge, practical skills, and professional confidence needed to build a successful career in nuclear safety. You'll also be encouraged and supported in working towards professional chartership and progressing your career within a leading consultancy environment.

Your Pathway
You’ll be assigned a location, cost centre, line manager, and a ‘home’ technical discipline based on your qualifications and business needs. If you wish to explore a different discipline at the end of the programme, we’ll consider this based on your interests and business requirements.
Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Partnership
As part of the scheme, you’ll have access to the CMI Foundation Chartered Manager pathway through flexible, online Bite Size programs. Choose from a range of topics - including Managing Change, Leading in a Digital Age, Conflict Resolution, Project Management, and Data-Driven Decision Making - to build your leadership and management skills.

Each program consists of three concise modules (totalling 85-135 minutes), scheduled in your second year. Complete activity sheets to demonstrate your learning and earn your Foundation Chartered Manager certification.
Qualifications
Must have achieved, or be on track to achieve, a relevant degree in either Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or other STEM subject.
Working Environment
This is a full-time role that is initially office-based, moving towards an agile working arrangement with a minimum of three days per week in the office. The individuals would be based in either one of our offices, either Warrington or West Cumbria. Our teams are based in Warrington and West Cumbria. You’ll enjoy a collaborative environment that values technical excellence and work-life balance. We place a strong emphasis on employee wellbeing.
- Warrington: The team in Warrington are based at Birchwood Park, offering a modern workspace with complimentary on-site parking and access to a fully equipped gym. - West Cumbria: Our West Cumbria team is based in a Georgian building on the edge of the Lake District National Park. To apply for the Tetra Tech 2027 Graduate Scheme, candidates must submit an up-to-date CV detailing their academic background, relevant experience, and motivation for joining the programme. All applications will be acknowledged upon receipt.
Following initial screening, shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete online psychometric testing designed to evaluate key competencies and problem-solving skills relevant to consultancy work. Those who progress beyond this stage will be invited to attend an in-person Graduate Day.
