Graduate Operations Research Analyst
About the Role
Are you a recent Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, or Analytics graduate looking to start your career in optimization and business analytics? We are seeking a motivated and analytical Graduate Operations Research Analyst to join our team. This entry-level position is ideal for graduates who enjoy solving complex business problems using mathematical models, data analysis, and optimization techniques.
No prior professional experience is required. Full training and mentorship will be provided to help you develop practical skills in operations research, business optimization, and decision support.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and analyse operational and business data.
- Assist in developing mathematical and optimization models to improve business processes.
- Support forecasting, scheduling, resource allocation, and capacity planning initiatives.
- Analyse business performance and identify opportunities for operational improvements.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for stakeholders.
- Assist in scenario analysis and decision-support modelling.
- Work with large datasets to identify trends and operational insights.
- Support supply chain, logistics, production, or workforce planning projects.
- Document analytical methodologies and project findings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency.
- Assist in validating analytical models and business assumptions.
- Stay updated with emerging analytical tools and optimization techniques.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Recent graduate or up to 1 year of experience.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of statistics and optimization concepts.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and logical thinking.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness to learn new analytical tools and technologies.

Preferred Skills
- Basic knowledge of Python, R, or SQL.
- Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools.
- Understanding of optimization techniques such as Linear Programming or Integer Programming.
- Knowledge of forecasting and simulation concepts is an advantage.
- Academic projects involving data analysis, optimization, or operational modelling are beneficial but not required.
