About The Role
Graduate Placement - Land Data Assistant
- Duration: 2 Months Fixed Term Contract
- Salary: £27,000 pro rata
- Location: Pity Me, Durham

About The Role
In this role, you will play a key part in creating and maintaining an accurate geospatial record of our land-based estate. Working closely with colleagues across Estates and Legal, you will help gather, verify and record information relating to land ownership and tenanted properties, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
You will be responsible for researching land ownership information using a variety of sources, including Land Registry data, historic deeds and internal estate records. By reviewing and cross-checking information, you will help build a reliable geospatial database that supports effective estate management and decision-making.
The role involves regular collaboration with stakeholders across the business, requiring a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to analyse information from multiple sources. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys research, working with data and contributing to the management of a large and diverse property portfolio.

About You
We're looking for someone with experience using ArcGIS or similar Geographic Information System (GIS) software, who enjoys working with spatial data and has a strong attention to detail. You will have a basic understanding of HM Land Registry processes and be confident researching and interpreting property-related information.
You will ideally have achieved, or be working towards, a degree in Geography or a related discipline, with an interest in land, property and mapping data. The successful candidate will be keen to develop their knowledge, able to work accurately with complex information, and comfortable collaborating with colleagues from a range of professional backgrounds.
A basic understanding of property law would be advantageous, although this is not essential, as training and support will be provided to help you develop within the role.
