Application Deadline: Recruitment is ongoing. Please apply as soon as possible as the advert may close once we have sufficient applicants.

The Opportunity

Join our 2027 Graduate Programme as a Graduate Process Engineer in our Redditch office, where you will be part of a market-leading Waste & Generation team within Energy & Resources.

About The Role

As a graduate process engineer, you will balance technical learning with practical project delivery across specialised and novel technology sectors. You will sit within our agile Waste & Generation team of circa 20–25 engineers across three main hubs in Newcastle, Manchester, and Redditch. Our Redditch office houses cross-discipline engineers comprising Process, Mechanical, Electrical, and Design Management personnel.

Your Core Responsibilities Will Include

  • Breaking complex processes down into fundamental building blocks, evaluating system interfaces, and understanding package interdependencies.
  • Contributing to all phases of the process design lifecycle for energy, waste, and decarbonisation projects.
  • Interrogating and assessing new, innovative technologies such as anaerobic digestion, biogas upgrading, hydrogen production, and carbon capture.
  • Fundamental process engineering calculations, heat and mass balances, and system evaluations.
  • Preparing clear technical reports, process documentation, and deliverables for clients and key stakeholders.
  • Working within cross-discipline teams alongside mechanical, electrical, and design management specialists.

We are committed to supporting employees in achieving relevant professional qualifications and accreditation. The applicable professional qualification for this role is Chartered Chemical Engineer (MIChemE) status with the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE).

Your Impact

In this role, you will be at the forefront of the UK’s transition to clean energy, circular economy, and net-zero technologies. Supporting high-impact projects across anaerobic digestion of food waste, steam/heat export facilities from energy-from-waste plants, biogas utilisation, hydrogen production, carbon capture, and waste processing, your work will directly enable sustainable energy generation. By mastering novel processes and delivering robust engineering designs, you will help our clients solve complex technical challenges and leave a positive, lasting legacy for communities and the environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
