Location: East of England

Reporting to: Principal Process Engineer

About The Role

Are you a recent graduate with a degree in water/wastewater process science or engineering and looking to build a career in Process Engineering?

We’re looking for a Graduate Process Engineer to join our Engineering team as part of the @one Alliance.

This is an exciting opportunity to put your academic learning into practice while developing your technical skills alongside experienced engineers. You’ll be supported and guided throughout your development as you work towards becoming an expert in Process Engineering.

Working collaboratively with engineers from different disciplines, you’ll help develop and detail appropriate solutions, adopting industry-leading approaches to design and delivery.

You’ll also have opportunities to gain the experience needed to work towards Chartered status, including site experience, commercial exposure and access to digital tools designed to improve the quality of engineering design.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Graduate Process Engineer, you’ll gain experience across a range of water and wastewater engineering activities, including:

  • Contributing to the development of solutions and designs for water and wastewater treatment plants and/or sewerage and water systems.
  • Helping develop solutions that meet customer, environmental and efficiency requirements.
  • Producing consistently high-quality work and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the team.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider design team to develop 3D models and engineering solutions.
  • Applying your knowledge and skills to support the delivery of safe designs in accordance with CDM Regulations, relevant standards and accepted codes of practice.
  • Contributing to a culture of technical excellence across projects.
  • Working closely with other Engineers, Project Design Managers and Operations to ensure effective interfaces between disciplines.
  • Identifying and managing gaps and overlaps between disciplines.
  • Sharing best practice and contributing to improved project performance.

Your Development

This role is designed to give you the opportunity to develop both technically and professionally.

You’ll be supported by experienced engineers and given opportunities to build the knowledge and practical experience required for a successful career in Process Engineering.

Your development may include:

  • Practical site experience.
  • Exposure to the commercial aspects of engineering projects.
  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Access to digital engineering tools.
  • Opportunities to develop your skills and work towards Chartered Engineer status.
  • Exposure to industry-leading approaches to engineering design and project delivery.

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for a graduate who is passionate about developing a career in Process Engineering and keen to apply their academic knowledge in a practical environment.

Essential

  • Educated to degree level in a water/wastewater process science or engineering-related subject.
  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in Process Engineering.
  • Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using IT packages.
  • A willingness to tackle complex engineering challenges.
  • Motivation to learn, develop and explore new ways of thinking.
  • A desire to put your academic learning into practice and add value within a professional engineering environment.
