Production Technician

Owing to rapid growth, a leader in the development of Quantum Technologies, is now seeking an additional Production Technician to join their team in Southampton.

About the Role

Joining the Device Processing Team, you will work in the cleanroom and production site, undertaking processes to fabricate devices for customers. Processes will include metal sputtering, furnace processing, photolithography, acid etch, wafer dicing, polishing, and poling as well as inspection and characterisation.

Working on product development, you will work to production schedules meeting customer time scales and ensuring high levels of quality.

Some general administration will be required as part of the role.

Qualifications and Experience

It is essential you have previous experience working in cleanrooms, in device fabrication, wafer scale optical or semiconductor device processing.

You must be able to work with small and delicate components, using microscopes for mm scale components.

A relevant degree or equivalent knowledge is essential for this role.

Preference will be given to applicants who have experience using SEM, profilometers or surface characterisation tools.

Candidates with experience working in academic cleanrooms will be considered, although preference is for commercial cleanroom / fab experience.

Additional Information

  • Candidates MUST be eligible to work and live in the UK, without requiring sponsorship. Copies of Visa and Passport will be requested for verification.
  • Owing to staff holidays and business commitments, interviews are likely to commence early October 2026.

Hours

  • 37.5 hours per week flexible between 06:00-16:30 Mon to Thurs, 06:00-13:30 Fridays.

Salary / Benefits

  • Circa £35k dependent on experience, plus benefits.
