Graduate Analyst Scheme - UK Remote - £28,000 - £30,000 + Excellent benefits
It's that time of year again when Dahlia Recruitment - Renewables partners with our Biogas client to recruit for an exciting Graduate Engineer / Analyst position! This role is an 18-month permanent programme which is very varied and covers Engineering, Finance, Business Development, and Policy. If you are a recent Graduate with a keen interest in Renewable Energy and the Environment, then this role could be just what you're looking for! This is a fully remote role (UK based) and will require a weekend shift 1 in 4/5 weeks, so you must be flexible.
Position Summary and Responsibilities:
The 18-month Graduate Analyst scheme begins in the area of gas operations, which is central to the business and helps to drive everything they do.
- The first 6 months will be spent learning about gas, covering all things related to gas balancing, trading, and revenue optimisation.
- By the end of this initial six months, you will be responsible for ensuring correct and timely data on gas pricing and production is provided for trading and strategy decisions to be made.
- Following this, there will be four rotations, each lasting approximately three months each. There are numerous routes that can be taken depending on both your skills and the needs of the business.
- Alongside these rotations, you would continue to carry out daily gas operational tasks on rota.

Key Skills Required:
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills with a particular focus on Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent numerical and data analysis skills.
- Organised with strong attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently.
- A logical and thoughtful approach to problem-solving.
- An interest in green energy and the desire to work towards decarbonisation.
- A STEM degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Mathematics, or Science.
- Flexible regarding working hours.
- Accuracy and an eye for detail.
- The ability to work as part of a team but remotely.
Analytics
Working under our head of analytics, you would carry out numerous pieces of analysis which help to support pitches and key commercial decisions. Most of this work will be using Excel and there would also be opportunities to present your work to senior management and to make recommendations that would shape the direction of the business.
Business Development
As a small company, they are always looking to grow and develop. A significant amount of time is spent working with new and potential clients to see how they can help them meet their green energy goals and needs. This rotation would be focused on developing new and innovative concepts and ideas which could be shown to both current and existing clients. Due to the level of knowledge of the industry, this role would come towards the end of your rotation.

Green Subsidies
Biomethane is central to the business. In this rotation you would work firstly with the certificate trading team. Here you would learn about the green gas subsidy market and assist with origination and analysis that would help the trading team to make decisions and close deals.
Legal and Regulation
The gas, and specifically biomethane, industry is ever evolving. Some of the changes to support biomethane development are proposed and designed by the business but also ensure that at all times they are on top of all regulatory changes. In this rotation, a lot of your time would be spent with the legal and regulatory team, both discussing possible changes to regulations and attending industry groups and meetings. You would be required to keep abreast of changes and report to senior management and the wider organisation.
The role includes weekday and weekend out-of-hours working according to a 2-4-week rotational pattern. Payment is additional to salary.
