Where will you be working?
At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives.
This role will be within our Transmission and Renewables team across Wales and South West England. We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV infrastructure, metering, and home decarbonisation. We design, build, and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, helping to ensure the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity that powers homes, businesses, and communities.
What you'll be doing
As a Graduate Project Engineer, you'll gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced project and construction teams, supporting the successful delivery of major electrical transmission and renewable energy projects.
You'll be involved in:
- Supporting the delivery of capital electrical transmission projects for clients such as National Grid, SSE, and private enterprises.
- Assisting with the coordination of projects through the full lifecycle, from design and planning through to construction and handover.
- Learning and supporting design assurance processes to ensure key project milestones are achieved.
- Assisting the team with Temporary Works coordination and understanding Temporary Works procedures.
- Using client systems to help manage project documentation, correspondence, and records.
- Working with planners, site managers, and engineers to monitor project progress and programme performance.
- Supporting the preparation of project handover documentation, including Health & Safety files and quality records.
- Helping to identify and resolve design and construction challenges on site.
- Collaborating with commercial, engineering, and operational teams to support project delivery.
- Attending site visits, project meetings, and client reviews to develop your understanding of project management and engineering delivery.
- Building your technical, commercial, and leadership skills through structured development and mentoring from experienced professionals.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- A degree (or expected degree) in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management.
- A passion for infrastructure, energy, and renewable projects.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn.
- The ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- A full UK driving licence (or working towards obtaining one by September 2027).
