Job Title: Graduate Defence Solutions Project Management
Location: Portsmouth Naval Base (Hampshire)
We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however for this role you will be expected to attend your site 4 days per week.
Salary: £34,000 + £2,000 Welcome Bonus
What You’ll Be Doing
This role supports the delivery of projects throughout the full project lifecycle, helping to ensure that customer and user needs continue to be met while planned financial and operational benefits are achieved. The individual assists in identifying, assessing, and managing project risks, applying appropriate project management methods and tools, whether using predictive or adaptive approaches. They contribute to agreeing project approaches with stakeholders, developing realistic project plans, and monitoring progress against schedules while supporting effective stakeholder engagement. The role also involves reviewing project data and analysis to identify areas of success and concern, as well as supporting the management of budgets, quality standards, and schedule adherence to help ensure successful project outcomes.
Core Duties
- Able to perform non-complex project reporting and scheduling.
- Query resolution of basic and routine problems.
- Develop a knowledge of Business processes and procedures.
- Administration and general office skills including spreadsheets/ Microsoft packages.
- Attend on the job training as appropriate.

Please be aware that many roles at BAE Systems are subject to both security and export control restrictions. These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation. All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.
Qualification Requirements
As a minimum requirement you must have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in the following subjects: Project Management, Business, Mathematics
Start date: 6th September 2027
Length of contract: Permanent contract
