At the heart of these challenges, Assystem supports its clients in delivering their most strategic projects. To achieve this, our 8,000 Switchers leverage their expertise in engineering, project management, and digital solutions.
Operating in 13 countries (Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, and North America), we contribute to the development of new nuclear power generation capacities, the operational maintenance of existing facilities, and the design and delivery of critical infrastructure, particularly in the defence sector.
Your Future Team
Are you someone who enjoys bringing people together, solving problems and helping good ideas become reality?
Join our two year Graduate Programme and begin your career with our Project Management team. You’ll work alongside experienced project professionals supporting complex engineering and infrastructure projects within our Defence business.
Our Project Managers bring together people, information and technical expertise to help projects move successfully from initial requirements through planning and delivery to handover and close out. They help teams remain focused on what needs to be delivered, when it needs to happen and how risks or issues will be managed.
You’ll gain practical experience across the project lifecycle while developing your understanding of project planning, governance, risk, change, cost, quality and stakeholder management. You’ll be supported as you build your confidence, develop your project management skills and learn how multidisciplinary teams deliver complex projects.
Job Description
Your Responsibilities
From day one, you’ll contribute to live projects and help teams coordinate the people, activities and information required for successful delivery.
You’ll work under the guidance of experienced Project Managers, gradually taking on greater responsibility as your knowledge, skills and confidence develop. Assystem’s Project Management terms of responsibility describe the graduate’s primary role as learning from experienced colleagues, understanding cross-functional requirements and contributing to project delivery.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
