Graduate Quantity Surveyor

Salary: £30,500

Location: Redhill, Chester, Glasgow, London, Leeds

Contract Type: Full Time Permanent

Closing Date: 06/01/2027

Binnies, part of the RSK Group, is seeking motivated Graduate Quantity Surveyors to support the successful delivery of clean water and wastewater projects through effective cost and contract management. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and future-focused industry with a clear route to professional chartership.

You will work closely with experienced Quantity Surveyors and wider project teams, supporting projects both locally and, where required, nationally. The role will involve working from the office as well as attending client offices and project sites, so a willingness and ability to travel is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions
  • Assist with contract administration and commercial reporting
  • Monitor project costs, identify risks, and manage change processes
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients (e.g. Thames Water, Welsh Water, Scottish Water)
  • Ensure compliance with NEC contracts, procurement frameworks, and commercial procedures
  • Contribute to value engineering, cost-saving initiatives, and financial forecasting
  • Assist in the management of subcontract works packages and the preparation of cash/payment applications

Attributes

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline (RICS accredited preferred)
  • A strong interest in the water, utilities, or infrastructure sector
  • Good numerical, analytical, and communication skills
  • Attention to detail, self-motivated and ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • Full UK driving licence (or working towards it)
  • Continuous training and development - tailored training agreements towards chartership
  • Working alongside other professionals and JV construction partners, in multi-disciplinary
