Graduate Quantity Surveyor
Reporting to
Managing Quantity Surveyor

Purpose of the Position
The key function of this role is to support the quantity surveying team with managing construction project costs, assisting with feasibility studies, cost planning, tender document preparation, and subcontractor payment while splitting their time between their office base and site visits.
Responsibilities & Duties
Including but not limited to the following:
- Assisting in creating, managing, and tracking project budgets and cost plans from inception to completion.
- Performing on-site measurements and evaluation completed work for subcontractor payments.
- Preparing, reviewing, and helping with tender documents, bills of quantities, and contracts.
- Analysing and reporting on commercial risks and assisting in the preparation of monthly cost reports.
- Visiting construction sites to monitor progress and verify costs, often acting as a liaison between subcontractors and project managers.
- Helping with the procurement process, including selecting and appointing subcontractors and suppliers.
- Interacting with contracts, clients, and internal team members.
- Working towards a professional accreditation.

Person Specification
Qualifications and experience
- A relevant Bachelor's degree, which can include Business Management, Construction, Engineering, Building Surveying.
- Strong ability to analyse data, perform cost estimation, and manage calculations.
- A strong understanding of construction principles, methods, and contract types.
- Competence in MS Office, to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written skills for reporting to clients and stakeholders.
- A good understanding of the construction and engineering industries.
