The Graduate Sales Engineering Role

The Graduate Sales Engineering role is designed for early engineers who want to develop careers in technical sales, applications engineering, and technical marketing. You will benefit from extensive training programs, including training on NI products and related technologies, our sales process, public speaking, instructor skills, and on our customers and markets they serve.

We're looking for engineers who thrive in teams and enjoy time spent with customers discussing complex engineering problems. Applicants will demonstrate resilience and a passion to excel. The successful applicant will demonstrate confidence in sharing new ideas and strive to keep updated with market developments, competitors, customer demand, and new product lines to develop their technical acumen, customer understanding, and soft skills.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Spend your first 6 months in rapid learning, gaining expertise with NI tools and our sales process while supporting NI customers and their technical challenges
  • After 6 months, you will partner with an Account Manager to support customer sales requests, provide demos, training, and customer configuration
  • Balance your time between inbound sales demand, marketing generated leads, customer presentations and demos, and your prospecting activities to generate new demand and pipeline
  • Develop test and measurement expertise to equip you for your future career
  • Qualify demand and escalate opportunities to Account Managers to drive growth
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to others within the team
  • Work cooperatively with many departments at NI, including sales, marketing, technical support, operations, and business units
  • Travel to customer sites to conduct training courses, lunch and learns, and product presentations
  • Collaborate with our partner and distribution channel
  • Create a business plan to drive business success in your territory, identifying the right actions and resources to needed to support business outcomes

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering
  • Strong desire to pursue a long-term career in technical sales, marketing, or applications engineering
  • Solid understanding of electronics, computers, and high-level programming languages (C, Python, LabVIEW, etc)
  • Ability to relocate to Paris (FR), Milan (IT), Munich (DE) or Reading (UK) for minimum of 2 years
  • Willingness to relocate elsewhere in Europe if interested in Sales or Applications Engineering path
  • Available for moderate travel
  • English language competency and effective communication skills
