Job Introduction

Position: Graduate Scientist (In Vitro DMPK)

Location: Hoddesdon

About The Role

We are looking for a Scientist to join our In Vitro DMPK Assay group at our Hoddesdon site supporting Discovery ADME screening through to early development (e.g. studies associated with ICHM12).

In this role you will be working with others to create in vitro DMPK laboratory solutions to enable projects, ensuring appropriate experimental methods are followed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow and understand in vitro DMPK laboratory methods to answer project questions.
  • Effectively work as part of multi-disciplinary teams to deliver agreed project requirements.
  • Work with others to contribute with data and laboratory skills under the guidance, supervision and mentorship of others.
  • Report and document results of experiments in line with department practices and governing policies, including reporting to support IND applications.
  • Act as a system owner of equipment and instrumentation if required.
  • Implement and adoption of key internal business practices and applicable external regulations (e.g. Human Tissue Act), and adhere to all policies governing business activities.
  • Support and positively contribute to departmental or site audits as directed by scientific supervisor / Line Manager as necessary.

Candidate Profile

Essential:

  • MSc or BSc in Biochemistry, Biology or relevant subject
  • Practical laboratory experience gained during your studies or an industrial placement is desirable
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively in multi-disciplinary scientific teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders and customers

Desirable:

  • Understanding of enzyme kinetics
  • Experience of liquid handling systems
  • Cell culture skills, including both immortalised and primary cells
  • Understanding of physicochemical properties of molecules
  • Molecular Biology Skills
