Graduate Town Planner
Location: Winchester
Salary: GBP27,000/GBP30,000
Are you a recent Planning graduate looking to start your career within an established and growing planning consultancy?
I'm currently recruiting for a Graduate Town Planner opportunity in Winchester, offering the chance to gain hands-on experience across a varied range of planning projects and develop your career within a supportive and experienced team.
Responsibilities
- Assist with planning applications from submission through to determination
- Support site appraisals and assessments of development potential
- Assist with pre-application submissions and planning strategy
- Undertake planning research and provide support with planning policy matters
- Assist with planning appeals and written representations
- Support site promotion and Local Plan representations
- Assist with community engagement and consultation activities
- Attend site visits, meetings, and discussions with clients and local authorities
- Support project management and coordination with wider consultant teams
- Prepare planning documents, reports, and supporting information
- Gain exposure to projects across residential, care, education, commercial, and town-centre sectors

Requirements
- A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
- Ideally working towards or interested in pursuing RTPI accreditation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good research and analytical abilities
- A genuine interest in planning and the built environment
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and keen to develop a career in planning
